Other World is a relative concept. This article describes the world that Haruka and his classmates was summoned to.

It is a fantasy game-like world with magic, skills, monsters whose corpse disappear after being defeated leaving item drops, and the actual concept of level and stats.

Astrology[]

The Other World has no moon, but has a second sun. Nighttime in this world are generally similar to a full moon on Earth.

Because of the two suns, day and year have not consistent length. The new year is determined by the suns' position, but there seem to be no precise calendar developed that anticipates the new year.

Geography[]

Currently only one single continent has ever been mentioned, surrounded by ocean.

Magi generally flows east, much as water would flow towards lower ground. Where magi is more concentrated, leveling up is easier. As a result monsters, animals, and vegetation have a tendency to be stronger on the eastern end of the continent compared to the west side. The coastlines on the east side are mostly closed off by mountains.

The eastern most region of the continent is known as the Frontier, and is the frontline of battle against monsters.

Religion[]

A single religion dominates the continent. The religion worships a god named Kanatia. It is unclear whether this is the same being as the god in the white room.

There are different factions within the religion.

Demographics[]

Territory-wise, the human race dominates much of the continent. Most humans of the Other World have a Caucasian look. Because hundreds of years ago other people had been summoned from Japan to this world before, some descendants may have traits of Japanese appearance (such as facial features, black hair, or black eye).

Elves and Beastmen are each have their own country in the east. Slavers from the west would raid the elves and beastmen as a profitable business.

Political Landscape[]

Notable nations and other political entities include:

In the east:

  • The Kingdom of Diorelle (ディオレール王国), often referred to as just "the Kingdom", is the eastern most nation on the continent. It is on the frontline against the threats of the Frontier. Note that it is not the only kingdom on the continent.
  • The Theocratic State of Aryuka (アリューカ国), more commonly referred to as "the Theocracy", is the center of religion of the continent.
  • The Republic of Gameren (ガメレーン共和国), more commonly referred to as "Beastmen Country".
  • The Elven Forest, the country of elves
  • The Commerce Nation (商国)

In the west:

  • The Empire, a nation with a long history of using various methods to weaken its neighbors, including instigating insurrection in neighboring countries.
  • The Coalition of Republics (共和国連合諸国), a collection of small democracies, most of which overthrow their new governments all the time?
  • The Coalition of Kingdoms (諸王国連合), a collection of small nations that don't get their government overthrown?
  • The United Clans (氏族連合国)
